The critics agree with 93 points by Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast. Known both for its quality and rareness, the wine is a Bordeaux-style blend with an intoxicating perfume and rich mouthfeel. Tasters will detect rich, ripe black fruits, plum, and spicebox. The palate is structured with smooth tannins and balanced acidity. Best from 2009 through 2016. 950 cases made.
Spring Valley Vineyard's Uriah Merlot Blend 2006: Easily recognized by their distinctive wine label that pictures past family members involved with the vineyard lands, Spring Valley wines are famous, limited production wines from Walla Walla, WA. This Bordeaux-style blend is over 50% Merlot with added Cabernet Franc and Petit Vedot: all estate-grown. The wine is smooth and polished with concentrated tannins that melt on the mouth.
